Coast to Kosci for a Cause: Fighting Skin Cancer
I’m honoured to be running the Coast to Kosci Ultramarathon—a gruelling 240km journey from Boydtown Beach in Eden to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko—while fundraising for the Australian Skin Cancer Foundation.
This cause is deeply personal to me. In October 2023, I had a melanoma removed from my face, just in front of my left ear. The piece of skin removed was the size of a 20c coin—a confronting reminder that skin cancer can happen to anyone. Having had melanoma once, I know I’m at higher risk of more in the future.
As a keen runner and father, I’ve become even more committed to protecting myself, my family, and my friends. I never head outdoors without sunscreen, a bucket hat, UPF50+ clothing, and arm sleeves—and I encourage others to do the same. Prevention and awareness save lives.
The Australian Skin Cancer Foundation works tirelessly to prevent, detect, and fight skin cancer through community programs, free skin checks, and vital research. Every donation—big or small—helps them protect more Australians.
💛 How you can help:
-
Donate what you can to support skin checks, education, and research.
-
Share this page with your friends and family to spread the word.
Running Coast to Kosci is not just about the challenge of 240km in under 46 hours. It’s about using this journey to make a difference.
Thank you for supporting me, my run, and this vital cause. Together, we can help fight skin cancer and save lives.
